Charlotte-area companies have one more chance to claim the spotlight. The nomination deadline for the 2025 Charlotte Top Workplaces awards has officially been extended to May 23, giving organizations and employees extra time to secure a place among the region’s most outstanding employers.

Hosted by Charlotte magazine, the Charlotte Top Workplaces program honors businesses and institutions across the metro area that foster exceptional workplace culture. Any employer with 35 or more employees is eligible, and the awards are open to public, private, nonprofit, educational, and even government organizations. There’s no cost to participate.

The unique feature of the Top Workplaces program is that employees decide who makes the list. Participating organizations are evaluated through a confidential 25-question employee survey, designed and managed by Energage, a Pennsylvania-based research firm that partners with media outlets in 65 markets nationwide. In the past year alone, Energage has surveyed over 2 million employees across more than 8,000 organizations.

Surveys will be conducted through late June, with winners to be announced in fall 2025. Recognized organizations will be featured in a special edition of Charlotte magazine, giving them both regional recognition and a valuable recruiting edge in today’s competitive job market.

For job seekers, the Top Workplaces list serves as a trusted resource. Instead of relying on online reviews or marketing materials, they get real insights directly from the employees who live and breathe the workplace culture every day. For employers, the recognition builds brand reputation, boosts employee morale, and helps attract top-tier talent.

In 2024, 83 metro Charlotte employers were honored for creating environments where employees feel engaged, valued, and proud of their work. This year’s list aims to shine a light on even more deserving companies—whether they’re established giants or emerging innovators.

Nominations are quick and simple. Anyone can nominate a company by visiting charlottemagazine.com/twpnominate or calling (704) 954-8760. Once nominated, organizations are invited to take part in the free survey process. The only requirement? Having 35 or more employees in the Charlotte metro area.

This extension to May 23 is more than just a deadline—it’s a renewed opportunity to highlight the businesses that make Charlotte a great place to work. Whether you’re an employee who loves your job, a customer who sees the difference, or a leader who takes pride in your team, now is the time to act.

Charlotte’s workplace landscape is evolving. Help define it by nominating a company that’s setting the standard.
